She earned her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Fullerton in 2020 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach in 2012.
Andrea has over six years of experience providing speech-language services in school-based settings, including Title I schools serving culturally and linguistically diverse populations. She is passionate about supporting students from multilingual backgrounds and collaborating with families and educators to promote meaningful communication and academic success.
In addition, Andrea has four years of experience in home health, providing evaluations and follow-up therapy for adults with complex medical and neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, and other neurological disorders. Her clinical expertise includes the assessment and treatment of aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, apraxia, and speech-language impairments associated with neurological disease. She also has experience supporting individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems and providing Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT)-based interventions for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, Andrea spent eight years working as a Registered Behavior Therapist, supporting children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder in both clinic and home-based settings. This background strengthened her expertise in social-pragmatic communication, language development, and adaptive life skills.
Andrea believes in a collaborative, family-centered approach to therapy and enjoys partnering with caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary team members to create functional and meaningful treatment plans. She has a special interest in incorporating literacy and evidence-based language activities into therapy sessions to build vocabulary, comprehension, cognitive skills, and overall communication confidence across the lifespan.
Outside of her professional work, Andrea is an accomplished Polynesian dancer who trains in Hawaiian hula and ʻOri Tahiti. She regularly performs and competes at Pacific Islander cultural events and festivals and is passionate about studying Hawaiian and Tahitian history, stories, and language. Andrea is also a proud mother of two active children, Adrienne and Princeton, who keep her busy with dance, sports, and family adventures.
