Kayla Aguilera M.S., CCC-SLP

My name is Kayla! I am originally from Alabama, but I left for the West Coast about 10 years ago and haven't looked back. After completing my degrees in Communicative Disorders and Spanish, I graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide). I went on to complete my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a focus in Bilingualism from Arizona State University. At the beginning of my career, I worked with adults suffering from strokes, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological impairments. Admittedly, I never saw myself working with children; however, after having my children and navigating through medical diagnoses for my son, my focus shifted to pediatrics. I have been a proud, play-based clinician to the tiny humans ever since! I have a deep-rooted passion for providing child-led, neurodiversity-affirming therapy services to children of all ages. My focuses include the incorporation of sensory integration to support speech and language, as well as the implementation of Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC). I believe in connection over compliance and that communication is a fundamental human right for all individuals. I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to do what I love every day and I hope to continue to support others in improving their ability to communicate for many years to come.
