Mica Segismundo M.A., CCC-SLP
Mica (me-kuh) is a bilingual (English and Tagalog) speech-language pathologist who is passionate about providing neurodiverse-affirming, diverse/individualized, and play-based early intervention services. She believes “connection over compliance” is foundational to impactful therapy.
Mica graduated with both her B.A. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders (2020) and M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology (2023) from California State University, Long Beach (Go Beach!) . With experience across a wide range of settings – including schools, homes, university clinics, and hospital environments (acute inpatient, outpatient, and rehabilitation) – Mica brings a versatile and compassionate approach to supporting clients and their families across the pediatric and adult populations. She currently balances working with children (early intervention ages 0-3) in their homes, and with adults/geriatrics in the acute care hospital setting.
Her professional interests include play-based speech and language therapy, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), feeding/swallowing, and cognitive-communication. She is dedicated to using functional, meaningful activities that connect therapy goals to real-life experiences and everyday tasks. As a strong advocate for family engagement, Mica believes in empowering and educating caregivers to create a holistic and lasting impact on therapy outcomes.
As a lifelong learner who loves continuing education, Mica is always seeking new ways to grow as a clinician and stay current with evidence-based practices (best research evidence, clinical expertise, and patient values and preferences).
Outside of work, she enjoys reading fiction, watching (not scary) movies, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and indulging in really yummy food!.
